The Process of Making an Advertisement

Advertising is a means of communication with the users of a product or service.
The main goal to advertise is to reach out to a larger audience and boost sales.
”A good advertisement sells the product without drawing attention to itself.” - David Ogilvy
This process includes 10 steps. They are as follows:-

1.Analysis of The Product and Company

Advertisers start by performing an analysis of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
In short, this activity is called SWOT analysis.
As for strengths, relationships with the customers/clients, financial capabilities, commitment of the employees, etc.
Weakness can be analyzed, with the help of past advertised products and how much attention is paid to marketing.
Opportunities like collaborations with bigger companies, good use of social media.
Threats like other competitive companies, price comparison, similar products.

2.Knowing The Objective

There should be a purpose and goal for the advertising, and a message should be delivered to the audience.

3.Market Research

This step involves finding out the market and its behavior, knowing the competitors.
Knowing your position in the market as well as the competitor’s position.
What kind of advertising others are using and the response of consumers/clients.
Customer’s interest in that product and the dilemmas faced by the customer regarding that product.

4.Target Audience

This step is to identify the target customers/consumers most likely to buy the product.
Before designing the advertisement you should know whom you are addressing.
Based on the industry one should know their consumer’s social status, employment, age, education, where they live, what is their relationship with the product.

6.Setting The Budget

The advertising budget has to be planned so that there is no short of funds or excess of funds during the process of advertising and also there are no losses for the company.

7.Advertising Medium

This step includes advertising the product/service through media and communication channels.
The more the product is advertised through media, the larger the people are aware of it.
The product/service should be advertised keeping in mind the target audience and market research.
The media should be appropriate for advertising so that the customers who are informed about the product and are willing to buy are successfully reached.
For instance, if you are targeting people who spend their maximum time on social media, then you have to place your ads on the social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, etc.

8.Self Analysis

In this, the ad is re-checked, and the ad is re-defined to make it perfect to enter the market.

9.Launching The AD

Once the design is re-checked, it is ready to be delivered in the market with the selected delivery channels.
The key point is to maintain the quality.
Finally, the advertisement is released with perfect creation and perfect placement in the market.

10.Analyze The Results

This is the last step and most important of all.
A company takes a survey to analyze, did they provided what they have committed to the audience? and how the audience has reacted to their advertisements, and whether or not the entire process was a successful one.
Customer satisfaction is something a company should concern.
Every point is studied properly, and changes are made for future ads/campaigns.
